It is also necessary to join and be eligible to participate in the National Association for Certified home Inspectors. The test is given online and is entirely computer-based, however candidates must pass the ethnics obstacle course and the online inspector examination. There are also true/false questions included besides multiple choice, and the test takes about an hour to complete. The passing score is 80%, which breaks down to a maximum of 25 questions can be answered incorrectly. The NACHI Code of Ethics is utilized in the obstacle part of the exam. It presents hypothetical scenarios that the person must answer to advance into the test. This test is not timed, so a person can take as much time as needed to get through it, and it does not consist of any particular scale for scoring. This specific NHIE test contains questions that are multiple-choice, and there is about 200 of them. It takes about 4 hours to finish.
